A fabled island of ruins is sustained by an unlikely saviour – seaweed. Panchavarnam has spent a lifetime with her 'seaweed sisters' collecting this treasure. As changing oceans destroy the seaweed and eat up the island, Panchavarnam fights to preserve the sisterhood, even as her daughter chooses a different life.
